Our Mission
At BoatSense, we are dedicated to guiding you through leadership challenges. As seasoned executives, we have been in your boat shoes and have decades of experience to help you and your team achieve BoatSense.
BoatSense
There are so many parallels between rowing and leadership - one example is what we call “boat sense.” A person with boat sense has a mix of practical skills, situational awareness, experience, and the ability to read the rest of the crew. Most important, "boat sense" is the ability to be highly self-aware of your own actions and make small changes that have big impacts on the overall flow and performance of the team.
A high performing crew requires every rower to be in sync, alert, and ready to fully respond to conditions.
• Leaders must “read the water” (organizational culture, team dynamics, resources, challenges) and understand their personal impact. (Are your actions helping or hindering the boat?)
• Leaders must earn trust from the team by their own effective, high-quality performance and by creating a zone of safety. A learning culture allows crews to pull hard together and continuously improve.
“Boat sense” is a mindset; we can help you make small adjustments for big impacts and results.
